Trav Talks About His Successes In Fashion And Social Entrepreneurship
Travis Lubinsky, or Trav, is a partner of Flex Watches, Subzero Masks, The Inkkas company, Best Maine Lobster, and several others. In addition to that, he’s running an online course that teaches entrepreneurs how to build their own personal brand and grow their network, as well. Trav has had the chance to be mentored by and work with some industry greats like Daymond John from Shark Tank and Marcus Lemonis from CNBC’s The Profit. This has helped him grow into a global force to be reckoned with, and now he’s pouring all that energy into creating companies that make a change.
Trav grew up in Southern California and is the youngest of three brothers. His oldest brother was good friends with the founders of LRG, and through him and his friends, Trav learned a lot about the fashion industry and business in general at a young age. This period in his life fundamentally changed the way he looks at success, even today. While attending SDSU, Trav immediately started working on his career. Everyone knew Trav as the fashion guy, and he saw an opportunity to express his creativity and make some money by starting a printing company.
The printing company did exceptionally well, thanks to a lot of hard work and some luck, and grew into one of the most well-known printing companies in Southern California. After earning his first million dollars by the age of 20, Trav knew he was onto something big and put all of his efforts and experience into growing the company, which eventually allowed him to work with big industry names like Bauer Hockey, Paris Hilton, Tyga, and others.
However, he realized that he had other dreams for the fashion industry that weren’t being realized by any of his clients, which was what drove him to start his own watch company, Flex Watches. The whole brand is centered around working with different charities. Each watch represents a different charity, and Trav has partnered with multiple celebs and big brands like WWE, Star Wars, and Minions in the past to create new products.
Trav feels that his most significant success as an entrepreneur was when he was able to turn the brand around and sell a part of the company. That may seem like a strange thing to be proud of, but he feels it was an essential step toward rebuilding the business by asking for help and realizing what not to do. “It was crucial for me to be vulnerable and learn from my own experience because now I help other entrepreneurs build brands and sell products online,” he explains.
As someone who’s managed to make a big name for himself in the fashion industry and among notable circles around California, Trav turns down many potential clients and business opportunities. He says that it’s vital for an entrepreneur to work with a product or service that they’re passionate about, and they shouldn’t waste their energy dealing with negativity. “I protect my energy at all costs,” he adds. He is also adamant that entrepreneurs should find ways to refine and automate their processes and even talks at length about it on Forbes.
